Yong Seng teochew fishball noodle is an old brand in hawker centers and known for their fishball noodles and laksa. Their current location at Lorong Ah Soo second floor is quite popular and you'll frequently see long queues for their stall in the mornings. This was a Friday morning that we visited and the queue was a good 20-25 minutes.
The pioneer generation gets a little advantage in the ordering process and i have no qualms with that at all.
Fishball meepok with white vinegar, chili, braised mushroom, fishcake, fish balls, pig liver and lettuce. My mom introduced this and Yi Liu Xiang nasi lemak to me and wouldn't stop telling me how good tasting the noodles are but she ordered me the mee pok. The irony of it all.
Either way, the mee pok were very generously portioned and when mixed, you'll see that the noodles do not clump together which is a good sign. The fishballs were very nice, springy, sweet and very smooth which makes me wonder if they were handmade by the owners and the pig liver is fresh which is very important for what it is to taste good. The mixture with chili and vinegar is great and works well with the pork bone soup which came as a complement as well.

There are of course, people who find this very normal and i would also agree because it does take a while to appreciate the finer details in such a widely spread and common dish. If you just take a little more time to appreciate the texture of the fish balls and noodles though, i'm quite certain you'll discover new things to like about this simple bowl of noodles.

Verdict: A nice bowl of noodles worth 10-15 minutes
