Located at Empress Road market and food centre, this family run roast meat business has been going for a long time. Co-ran by a very young Chef Edward and his parents, this hawker stall has been innovating their business to cater to the new generation of foodies by offering various new methods of delivery such as online order fulfillment and new bento sets for office workers.
We ordered a full package meal to have try of almost everything they have to offer and i have to say that this table of delicious looking food certainly whet my appetite.
Starting off with the rice and soy sauce combination, this really brought back memories of olden days when many of the old style hawkers had this combination and you could just eat the rice without anything else.

The combination platter consisted of roasted crispy pork, roast duck and char siew. The crispy pork is easily the most popular item as evidenced by their facebook reviews and its easy to see why. The skin is made so that it provides a biscuit crunch while still keeping the juices of the meat intact. The roast duck is another well done, succulent and has an equally fragrant later of fat and skin. We prefer char siew that is more caramelized and sweet and theirs was pretty good albeit not the best. Of the 3 on the platter, the duck and roast pork is certainly a winner.

Old style peanut soup is something i've not had for a long time and their version is boiled soft, tastes light and very appetizing with the rice and chili combination.
The braised beancurd, dau pok and eggs adds another layer of taste to this already wonderful meal when had with soy sauce rice.

And finally, also a great complement to the meal is the chup chye which is slightly sourish and sweet which adds to the richness of the combination. You'll see great reviews on this from HungryGoWhere as well.

Overall, this is one of the better roast meat meals i have had in a long while. The food has soul and is tinged with nostalgia to times long past.

Verdict: A worthy roast meat stall worth queuing for.
