The tea room is located at the lobby of Amara Hotel in Tanjong Pagar and we were there to try their high tea set which we managed to get from a Groupon deal.

High tea is the in thing nowadays with its nice presentation and tray of delectable finger food to go with a nice pot of tea. Its a hit with everyone as it gives them an excuse to skip both lunch and dinner and spend the best part of the day, the afternoon, having a nice and relaxing meal snack with their friends.

The amara hotel set came with a pot of TWG tea which you can choose from a list. Food wise, i have to say the quality if better then some of the other high teas i've had. Each item has its distinct taste. Standouts being the scones with its buttery taste, the lobster curry pastry which is small but packed with spice and flavor, the rainbow cake and sandwiches all being very good. 

Despite the small bite sized portions you see here, it does start to fill you up around half way done the road and when you add tea to the process, you'll be pretty well fed by the end. All the while having a good time chatting about the latest comings and goings with your friends.

Its a lifestyle to aspire to and occasionally indulge in.

Verdict: Decent quality food and tea in nice air conditioned surroundings.
