With all the rage for korean chicken in Singapore, its amazing that no one has brought Kyochon into Singapore yet. Since the time i visited Korea, it has already opened new outlets in Malaysia, Thailand and even USA.

In Korea, me and my family basically had this for supper almost every night by asking the hotel staff to order on our behalf and deliver to our room. And get this, majority of our orders are delivered within 30 minutes from our order our the phone and it is all delivered piping hot!

A side note, some hotels may not want to order for you so please mange your expectations there.

Their signature chicken is their Kyochon honey and soy garlic fried series which are just splendid. Its difficult to explain why they are great but i'll try. The flavors are very distinct and pronounced. Hence the soy garlic is very obviously soy garlic. When you bite into it, the first thing that hits you is the soy taste followed by the garlic which is a great complement, just don't expect fresh breath after. The honey series is their best seller and it shows because the flavor is excellent, its like a blend of soy and honey and makes it a balanced taste thats hard to beat. The chicken itself is split into 2 types, you can choose the wings or the drumsticks which are both big and juicy in their own right. Nothing dry or shrunken about them, the chicken juices will just explode in your mouth and that is what makes this special.

And did i mention the value for money? Look at the pictures above, there is easily 20-30 pieces of chicken in them and it cost around $50 sgd plus delivery. The drumsticks alone is around 10 pieces of thick juicy, soy garlic and honey infused beauties. The quality control is superb in Korea.

Having said that, i've tried the one in MBK (Mah Boon Kong) because i was craving a good chicken fix and was not as happily satisfied because the batter seemed thicker and the chicken was also somehow smaller in the Thailand outlet. They may have improved by now i hope.

Verdict: If in Korea, Eat Kyochon!
