I've heard so many good thing about this place and yet, never ever tried it until recently.
Featured in newspapers, television shows and on the word of mouth of many who have enjoyed this dish before, i finally made a decision to just walk in for a meal one fine day.
It was 3pm when i visited and the place was quiet with no queue but they were still serving food so i just went ahead with the ordering.
A nice chinese man asked what i would like and i just named the items i saw at random. "Uncle ah, i want the chicken wing, curry vegetables, egg and the braised beancurd."
With that, he quickly got everything and put on the plate and cut it with the scissors before adding braised sauce and curry sauce to have the wonderful plate you see above. Then the shocker came: "$3.90" he said. This made me do a double take. "How much?" "$3.90" he said again and i was super duper surprised and happy at the same time.
Surprised because usually with this many items, it would easily cost $5 elsewhere and happy because this is looking to be a great choice i've made for a late lunch.
Paying the money, i sat quickly and began to dig in.
The first thing you notice is how viscous the curry and braised sauce combination is. Its positively sticky even though it looks watery and it adds a lot to the flavor of the dish. All the items, from the chicken wing, the egg, the veg and beancurd would have been normal but the combination together on one plate with the sauce is just fantastic. I polished this off in less then 10 minutes and wanted more but i'm on diet so it'll have to wait till the next time.
I will definitely order way more items the next round i'm here. In conclusion, definitely eat here. There is a strange attraction and beauty in the combination and the price is very reasonable.
